Deep within the heart of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, lies the enigmatic Senganmori Mountain. This mysterious 1,515ft mountain has captured the attention of UFO enthusiasts and believers for over four decades, making it a renowned hub for alien sightings.

Senganmori Mountain has long been shrouded in mystery, with its towering, conical peak seemingly defying compasses and the presence of sphinx-shaped megaliths arranged in intricate patterns nearby. Surrounded by the strange ancient ruins of a forgotten civilization, it’s no wonder that this remote location has become synonymous with extraterrestrial encounters.

The village of Iino, nestled on the side of Senganmori Mountain, has also been associated with these otherworldly events for over 30 years. Each year, tens of thousands of travelers embark on a pilgrimage to this isolated village to uncover its secrets for themselves. The small town has even amassed a collection of over 3,000 alleged alien artifacts, further fueling its connection to centuries of mythology surrounding the ancient mountain.

In 2022, the UFO lab located within the village received 452 reports of sightings in and around Japan, with 149 of these cases being authenticated as genuine, unaltered evidence. The lab’s authority is bolstered by an extensive collection of 935 declassified CIA documents, gifted by UFO researcher Kinichi Arai. These documents recount stories of sightings from around the world throughout the last century, providing a solid foundation for research into alien trends.

After Arai’s death in 2002, his collection was transferred to the village’s museum, which has since built a trusted reputation for identifying and validating claims of alien life. The Fureaikan museum, situated on the side of the mountain, has curated a collection of 3,000 possible pieces of evidence for extraterrestrial life, including classified CIA documents containing records of UFO research.

Thanks to government funding between 1988 and 1989, the museum has thrived and now attracts roughly 30,000 visitors annually. The village has embraced its unique heritage, with alien-themed statues and signs decorating the area and guiding tourists up the mountain. The local community has even adopted a mascot – a little grey alien with large, dark eyes.

Senganmori Mountain, just southeast of the city of Fukushima, offers a fascinating glimpse into the world of UFO sightings and research. With its rich history, enigmatic landscape, and dedication to the study of otherworldly phenomena, it’s no wonder that this remote Japanese village has become a magnet for UFO enthusiasts and believers alike.
