A ghostly woman in white is said to repeatedly visit the grave of her infant child at Bachelors Grove Cemetery in Midlothian.

For some, those alleged sightings are a sign that motherhood reaches beyond death. And for a group of people last weekend, it was the perfect time to celebrate the woman in white, or the Madonna of Bachelors Grove and other ghost moms.

Famed Chicago ghost hunter and historian Ursula Bielski and two other guides led about 20 people on a tour focusing on history and hauntings at Bachelors Grove Cemetery on Saturday.

“This is the best thing I think to do with my mom instead of going to breakfast,” said 11-year-old Mara Morhr of Wood Dale, who came on the tour with her mother, Holly Morhr. “It’s something most people don’t do.”
