House Guests During Investigations
When a paranormal investigation is conducted, often the clients
contact family, friends and co-workers eager to witness us
investigators at work. There have been times when we would
show up at a residence only to meet the neighbors, distance
relatives and anyone else to who decides to drop by. One time
we were even the entertainment for a clients birthday
party. Needless to say, there are problems when this occurs.
Some can be dangerous.
When an investigation is conducted, usually the space of the
house is quite limited. Trying to get equipment set up, take
EVPS and get a sense of whats going in the residence
becomes quite difficult when there are unnecessary people
present. Particularly when they ask us questions, offer advice,
set off motion detectors and talk by recorders. Sometimes
we lose valuable time attempting to work around well meaning
guests who hinder our progress.
There is another reason why guests should be discouraged from
attending a paranormal investigation. Sometimes an entity
doesnt really like all the attention going on, or may
be attracted to a certain person. If the entity does become
angry, hostile, or attempts to make contact it can affect
an unsuspecting guest. Most paranormal groups train their
members to handle situations with negative or strong entities,
but guests dont have this training. We have seen this
happen.
We
recently had a case where an invited guest of a home discovered
large bruises on her arms. They just appeared with no apparent
cause. The entity made contact on the unsuspecting guest and
the person was harmed. Fortunately it was not as bad it could
have been. Fortunately, this was a person who has had much
experience dealing with entities and handled the situation
well. If this was a person that was just looking for a thrill
or was satisfying a curiosity becoming physically harmed could
have been a terrifying experience. Also remember things do
at times attach themselves to people and follow them home.
Do you really want an astral critter following your mother
home?
Finally, remember the legal aspect of this. All members of
my team must sign a disclosure stating any accidents are not
the fault of the group or the client. If a guest has an accident
or is attacked, whats stopping them from suing the client
or the investigation team? Sadly we have to take possible
lawsuits seriously, but guests invited by clients usually
dont have to sign a disclosure.
So if you decide to have a paranormal group come out for an
investigation, please discourage guests from attending. I
know many people find this interesting, but for everybodys
safety please dont invite guests.
Thanks,
Al
